What happens when I download a trial?
What gets installed?
Physics: During installation, Java 1.6.05 and visual C native libraries are installed. Flash 10 is included as part of our application installation.
Math: During installation, visual C native libraries are installed. Flash 10 is included as part of our application installation.
How much space does it take?
Windows: 70 Mb for Algebra II, 35 Mb for all others
Macintosh: 120 Mb for Algebra II, 90 Mb for all others
How much memory does it take?
Windows and Macintosh: The minimum recommendation is 512 Mb
Does the firewall need to be opened up?
The trial software is not authenticated so the firewall does not need to be opened up temporarily like the local version if networks are locked down. If there is a proxy server on the network, this information may need to be applied in the "Connection Settings". This is accessible by clicking "Preferences" at the bottom of the application, then "Change Proxy Settings".
Our installer and applications are digitally signed, so you know that they are from us, virus-free and haven't been modified. Every product is scanned to confirm that they are virus-free prior to distribution.
What happens to my trial when it expires?
If you attempt to access your trial after it has expired, you will be redirected to a web page letting you know that your account has expired. You will also be given a link that will take you to our purchase page.
How do I uninstall my trial?
This is an example using Algebra I as your trial. Please replace Algebra I with the name of the trial you’d like to uninstall.
Windows: Choose “Kinetic Books” from the Start menu/Programs and run “Uninstall Algebra I Online”.
Macintosh: Run "Uninstaller" located in Applications\Kinetic Books\Algebra I Online, or simply drag the following folders to the trash to remove Kinetic Books Algebra I:
Applications\Kinetic Books\Algebra I
User\Library\Application Support\Algebra I
The desktop icon, if you created one.
