In addition to the interactive problems, there are many sample problems in the textbook with each step worked out in detail. There are also over 100 interactive checkpoints that let you check your answer, and if you need help, they explain the strategy and work the problem step-by-step with you. Hundreds of "quizboards" also provide sample problems. They let you check your answer, and supply hints and the solution if you get stuck. Every step of the problems are worked: There are no "intuitively obvious" steps left for you to do! (The numbers of problems cited here are for the two more advanced levels of the textbook; the Conceptual Physics text has less problems).
As the simulation below demonstrates, the products let you see and experience the physics. This simulation is part of a lecture on how circular motion and simple harmonic motion are related.
Three levels of textbooks
We offer three levels of the textbook to suit your needs:
- Conceptual Physics: Clearly presents the concepts without stressing the mathematics.
- Principles of Physics: Requires algebra and trigonometry to apply the equations presented.
- Physics for Scientists and Engineers: Requires an understanding of calculus.
