In the interactive simulation on the right, you see a position-time graph of a ball that moves horizontally. The target graph
has three straight-line segments: from 0 to 3 seconds, 3 to 7 seconds, and 7 to 10 seconds. You set the velocity for three
time intervals.
Your challenge is to set the velocity for each interval to match the target graph. The velocity is constant for each of the
intervals. You can calculate each velocity from the slope of the appropriate line segment. Review the section on position-time
graphs and velocity if you are not sure how to do this.
Enter the velocity for each segment to the nearest meter per second and press GO to start the ball moving. Press RESET to start over.
